Lynn Pulito, The College PlannerLynn Pulito, CEP – Owner and Educational Consultant

Since 2012, Lynn Pulito has consulted through all stages of the college admissions process with hundreds of high school students and their families in the Glastonbury, CT area. Lynn’s personalized method of facilitating her students to better understand themselves by identifying and highlighting their aptitudes, talents, preferences and goals consistently results in the best college options for each of them.

In 2019, Pulito earned the distinction of becoming a Certified Educational Planner (CEP), the highest accreditation in the field  from the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners (AICEP).  She is a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and a member of the IECA Connecticut Regional Group.  Pulito holds a Master’s level Certificate in Independent Educational Consulting from University of California, Irvine. Pulito has also mentored students as part of the Possibility Project in New York City.

Pulito was nationally recognized for her work as a project manager and facilitator at IBM and was an officer at Aetna Life and Casualty. She attended the University of Connecticut and holds a BA in Economics from Eastern Connecticut State University.  Pulito has taught six (90) hour courses throughout New England as a certified Montessori Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Formation Leader.

Pulito, along with her husband Frank,  has three daughters Nikki, Gabrielle & Grace, two granddaughters, Isabella & Cecelia and two grandsons, Jackson & Luke.  She enjoys tennis, golf and other outdoor recreation, especially time on the lake.

Frank career has spanned over 40 years working in business, having worked in sales, consulting, marketing and executive level positions for large nationally recognized companies.

Pulito specializes in strategic planning, career planning, coaching and mentoring for professionals who are both starting and growing their professional careers. Pulito’s exposure to all levels of a company’s structure and organizational levels provide him with the needed insight and experience to help facilitate the next steps of an individual’s career decisions and path.

A Cum Laude graduate of Providence College, Frank serves on the insurance advisory boards of several organizations.

Gabrielle Rose Pulito, Independent Educational Consultant, LD & Athletic Advisor

As a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) with a MA in Special Education and BA in Education, Gabrielle Pulito offers expertise in both the education and learning disabilities arena.  Pulito has worked with mainstream students and students with all level disabilities as a student teacher/ teacher  in Elementary, Middle and High School classrooms.  Pulito was a full time middle school Special Education Teacher and Athletic Coach in VT for two years.  Pulito currently teaches Special Education at Smith Middle School and Glastonbury High School in Glastonbury, CT  as she transitions to a full time Independent Educational Consultant for The College Planner, LLC.

Pulito leads the Special Education and Organizational Support areas of our business. Her focus is to support students that are currently receiving Special Education services, helping them find the best fit college that will provide them similar support. She also offers executive functioning, academic, life skills and organizational tutorial services for middle and high school students. Additionally, she offers services for college students that need transitional and organizational support.  Lastly, as a multi year Athletic Intern at Penn State, Pulito is familiar with the NCAA recruiting process and offers expertise to those student athletes seeking to play a sport at the collegiate level.

Pulito is an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA).  She has been trained in The College Planner, LLC  P.L.A.N. methodology, and working closely with Lynn, has helped multiple high school students through all aspects of the college application process.  She attended the 2018 IECA Summer Training Institute at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, CA and is working toward her Master’s level Certificate in Educational Planning at the University of California, Irvine. 

Pulito brings energy and new ideas to our team and has a special connection with the students with whom she works as she was one of The College Planner’s first clients!

Laura Cubanski, Editor and Essay Specialist

Laura  earned her BA at the University of Connecticut and her JD from the UCLA School of Law.  She has worked as a Bar Exam grader for the State of Connecticut for 25 years.  During the school year, Cubanski is a reading and writing tutor in the Reading and Writing Center (RWC) at Glastonbury High School. The RWC was recently recognized for excellence by the Glastonbury Board of Education.  Cubanski truly enjoys assisting students in grades 9-12 with all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming, thesis development and organization through revising and proofreading.

Cubanski and her husband have three daughters, whom have graduated from college.  

Jennifer Grunwald, Career Coaching Specialist

Jennifer Grunwald has extensive background in career coaching and currently serves as the Graduate Career Coach for the University of Connecticut’s Part-time MBA program in Hartford.  She has worked for over 12 years with a variety of undergraduate/graduate students as well as alumni in providing career assistance. She delivers an individual and holistic approach to coaching and counseling by understanding the unique characteristics of each student and professional. Grunwald has held several positions at UConn where she provided one-on-one career coaching to students, managed a career internship program, delivered workshops and presentations to undergraduate and graduate students across all majors and disciplines, and coordinated placement for nursing graduate students. Grunwald holds a BA in Human Development and Family Studies and a Master’s degree in Higher Education: Student Affairs – both degrees from UConn. Grunwald was recently recognized as a Certified Professional Résumé Writer. Grunwald has recently started courses at University of California, Irvine in Educational Consulting.

Grunwald lives in Glastonbury with her husband Michael and three children, Faith, Braden, and Colby. She enjoys running, being outside, traveling, and playing and watching sports. You will often find her playing soccer and basketball with her children and watching them play locally and in tournaments. Grunwald is a member of the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers and the Professional Association of Résumé Writers and Career Coaches. She also volunteers as a religious education teacher and youth basketball coach for the Glastonbury Basketball Association.
